Reading About Animals Inspires Kids

Reading gives knowledge; knowledge is the key. This has been quoted to us hundreds of times and in many different situations. So making sure that the youngsters of the world are made aware of how important all animals are to us can help in preserving them for the next generation. One of the best ways to give them the tool, knowledge, is through reading about animals. Most kids become curious about the world around them at an early age. As soon as they become aware of other living beings, they become curious. It doesn't matter if it's a treasured pet, a bug or a bird. This becomes a child's foundation for their burgeoning interest in animals. Natural curiosity can keep fueling this interest; but fostering it with reading can really inspire it further.

Soon that same child, with the further encouragement of reading literature about those treasured animals, is cataloguing all they know about them. It's like they're collecting points for every tidbit that they can obtain, retain and recite about their chosen animal. When they are praised for their knowledge they receive further inspiration, further inspiration to learn more. You as a parent have fostered this young mind and assured the passage of the torch to another generation of the care for this worlds animals.Their interest at some point and time may dwindle and seem to disappear, in regards to all their obtained animal information; but it will never be forgotten. Years down the road someone will ask them something about an animal and there it is they've pulled it back up again. It could be when they are studying specific animals at school or when they see that particular animal, but that information, proudly obtained and retained, will return to be brought out again for display.

But most of all that early exposure to the world's animals via reading will foster a caring that will help to preserve them. From the time that they realize that the fasted cat is a cheetah; to everything they can find about all the ferocious dinosaurs, animals will entice kids to read more. These same curious young learners will become the animals new protectors; therefore stacking the odds in their favor of survival beyond our lifetime. So reading about animals as children is a great way of passing the stewardship of our world onto the next generation and hopefully assuring its survival.
